SHIP Local Housing
Assistance Plan (LHAP)

The Local Housing Assistance Plan outlines how Sarasota County will use State Housing Initiative Program (SHIP) funds for affordable housing initiatives.  SHIP funds are used to address local housing needs for very low-, low- and moderate-income families.

​Sarasota County is preparing the Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for Fiscal Year 25-26, 26-27, and 27-28.

 

A draft copy of the LHAP has been completed.  The draft LHAP will be available on the County website during the Public Comment Period from March 21, 2025 through April 20, 2025.  Please email public comments to HEROcomments@scgov.net or drop off written comments to the Housing Enhancement and Redevelopment Office at 301 N. Cattlemen Rd, Suite 200, Sarasota, FL 34232.  Hard copies may be available upon request by contacting the Housing Enhancement and Redevelopment Office.

All comments on the LHAP for FY 25-26 through 27-28 are due not later than 5pm on April 20, 2025.
